BuildMyClass came out of a real problem — too many classes to plan, not enough hours in the day — and a belief that technology should help teachers teach, not get in the way.

Where this started
BuildMyClass was born at The Soulfish Center in Surfside Beach, SC — a wellness studio offering Pilates, yoga, and frequency healing. As an instructor running multiple class formats every week, I was spending hours planning classes that could have been spent on my students, my family, or honestly just breathing.
The tools that existed were either too generic (AI that didn't understand the difference between a reformer footwork series and a barre 32-count sequence) or too rigid (rigid templates that felt like filling out a form). I wanted something that actually understood movement — that knew why you sequence from supine to side-lying to standing, why you don't jump into a yin hip opener cold, why barre language matters.
What we built
BuildMyClass is an AI class generator that was trained on real movement sequencing principles. It doesn't just list exercises — it builds arcs. Warm-Up → Main Sequence → Cool Down, with the right exercises in the right order, the right coaching language for the format, and a playlist that actually matches the vibe you're going for.
Every format is fully built out — Reformer Pilates gets springs and carriage settings, Yin gets meridian targets and hold timers, Barre gets 32-counts and pulse variations. It's not one-size-fits-all.
And then it gets out of your way. Generate, swap what you don't like, open Teach Mode on your phone, and go.
The philosophy behind it
We believe good teaching isn't about having a perfect plan — it's about being present with your students. BuildMyClass handles the planning so you can be present. It's a tool, not a replacement. You still bring your voice, your adjustments, your relationship with the room. We just did the spreadsheet work for you.
We also built this with the reality of studio life in mind. That's why the Studio plan exists — so a studio owner can bring their whole team on board for one flat monthly rate, and every instructor walks in with a class plan that's theirs to teach and make their own.

A note on faith and wellness
The Soulfish approach has always tried to bridge wellness, faith, and real life in ways that don't fit neatly into traditional categories. BuildMyClass carries that same spirit — we're not trying to replace the human element of teaching. We're trying to protect it by giving instructors their time back.
